New Video on Elastocaloric Technology from Project SMACool

The innovation project SMACool has created a new English version showing how the technology of Elastocalorics can be used to build cooling devices. First projects used metal wires made of nickel-titanium that were stretched and relaxed. The video shows an early prototype using such wires. In the current project, metal tubes will be used instead of wires. This shall lead to a much longer lifespan of the devices of several years of fault-free work.
